Delete your Balance account

You can request deletion of your Balance account and all associated personal data at any time. There are two equivalent ways to do this. We process every request — whichever channel you use — within the time limits set by the law of your country of residence, and within 30 days at the latest.

Option 1 — Delete from inside the app

The fastest way is to delete your account from your parent account settings inside the Balance app. The option is available in your account settings screen. If the exact wording or menu position changes in a future release, look for an item labelled "Delete account" or "Close account" within your parent account settings.

  1. Open the Balance app on the device of the parent account you want to delete.
  2. Go to your parent account settings.
  3. Choose the "Delete account" option and confirm. We will ask you to re-authenticate before the deletion is executed.

Option 2 — Request deletion by email

If you cannot access the app — for example, if you have lost your device, your account is locked out, or the in-app option is temporarily unavailable — you can write to us instead:

Email addresses are shown as images to reduce spam — please type them into your email app.

If you cannot send from the registered email address, write from any address and we will follow up with an additional identity check before proceeding.

What gets deleted

When your account is deleted we permanently remove:

End-to-end-encrypted media stored in Google Cloud Storage becomes permanently unreadable on deletion because the keys required to decrypt it are destroyed.

For the full per-data-category schedule — including the limited set of records we are legally required to keep for a defined period after deletion — see the Data Retention & Deletion Policy.

If you change your mind

Deletion is irreversible. Once the deletion has been executed we cannot restore the account or any of the data above. If you only want to pause Balance — without losing your data — cancel your subscription instead (see the Subscription Terms); your account stays intact and you can re-subscribe later.

Questions or problems

If your deletion request has not been actioned within 30 days, or if you believe your data has not been fully deleted, please write to and we will investigate. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority — see the Privacy Policy and the country annex for your jurisdiction at the bottom of that page.
